Barcelona Supercomputing Center in Barcelona, Spain, invites applications for a Research Engineer – R data analysis tools developer (RE2). This full-time role focuses on coordinating R-based tools within a High-Performance Computing environment and advancing Earth Sciences data workflows.

The position requires a Bachelor in a relevant field, strong R skills, and knowledge of climate data formats. Fluency in English and ability to collaborate with climate and computer scientists are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor degree in a relevant field.
• Excellent skills in R or similar languages.
• Knowledge of climate data formats (GRIB, NetCDF).
• Experience with UNIX/Linux environments and scripting (bash, etc).
• Experience with HPC architecture and parallel programming valued.
• Good programming skills to manage big and collaborative projects and experience with git.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate developments of Department R tools, in close relation with users in an HPC environment.
• Deploy and install packages in the shared department environment.
• Contribute to ongoing strategy for developing the Earth Sciences Department tools.
