ICIQ, the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia, seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to join Prof. Julio Lloret’s group in the RAISE project.

The role focuses on developing an adaptive self‑driving laboratory for electrochemical, photoelectrochemical and photochemical research, built on AMPER with automated handling and real‑time analytics. The successful candidate will advance Bayesian optimization, data‑driven workflows and edge control, collaborating across the RAISE/2AID consortium and

Formación

  • PhD in a relevant field by contract start date.
  • Strong research track record in electrocatalysis/electrochemistry or lab automation/robotics.
  • Ability to design, execute and troubleshoot complex workflows.
  • Programming experience; Python strongly preferred; experience with data analysis or instrument control valuable.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; ability to publish and present.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead independent research at the interface of sustainable catalysis, electrochemistry, automation and AI.
  • Design automated catalyst‑discovery and optimization campaigns for CO₂ reduction and related processes.
  • Operate, improve and expand AMPER platform with robotic handling, gas/liquid delivery and electrochemical cells.
  • Develop instrument drivers and data pipelines; integrate control components.
  • Implement closed‑loop optimization using Bayesian methods and active learning.
  • Integrate real‑time data with performance metrics and mechanistic interpretation.
