Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in Tarragona, Spain seeks a highly motivated PhD candidate to develop earth-abundant electrocatalysts for CO₂ reduction, integrating automated high-throughput experimentation, in-situ analysis and AI-guided decision making.

The project combines catalyst design, AMPER-based electrochemistry, and data science within the RAISE/2AID consortium, offering interdisciplinary collaboration and training across chemistry, robotics and AI.

Formación

  • Master’s or equivalent degree completed by enrolment in the PhD program

Responsabilidades

  • Design, synthesize and characterize new electrocatalysts for CO₂ reduction to fuels and energy carriers.
  • Plan and execute high-throughput catalyst preparation and electrochemical testing with AMPER.
  • Integrate real-time electrochemical/analytical data with closed-loop optimization and ML methods.
  • Develop reproducible experimental protocols and integrate software/hardware for the workflow.
  • Establish structure-activity relationships through electrochemistry, spectroscopy and kinetics.
  • Curate machine-readable data and contribute to FAIR data practices, reports and publications.
  • Participate in group/consortium meetings and collaborations.
