The Lloret-Fillol Group at Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in Tarragona, Spain, invites national or international candidates to pursue a PhD focused on AI-driven catalyst development aimed at accelerating CO2 conversion to fuels and chemical feedstocks.

The project combines catalyst design, automated high-throughput experimentation, real-time analysis and Bayesian optimization, with the AMPER platform enabling closed-loop autonomous experimentation and AI-guided decision

Formación

• The candidate must hold a Master’s or equivalent degree by enrolment time.
• Strong foundation in chemistry, electrochemistry or materials synthesis is desired.
• Good command of English (B2 or higher) is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Design, synthesize and characterize new electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction.
• Plan and execute high-throughput catalyst preparation and electrochemical testing with AMPER.
• Integrate real-time data with closed-loop optimization and ML methods to guide experiments.
• Document reproducible protocols and contribute to software/hardware integration.
• Develop structure-activity relationships through electrochemistry and spectroscopy.
