Platform Engineer – Azure / CI/CD / Infrastructure

About Us: Tech9 is shaking up a 20-year-old industry, and we're not slowing down. Recognized by Inc. 5000 as one of the nation's fastest-growing companies, we are dedicated to building innovative, high-quality software solutions. Our team is passionate about delivering technology that makes an impact. We offer a 100% remote working environment with a collaborative and supportive culture, allowing you to focus on what you do best.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer specializing in Azure, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation to support large‑scale platform and delivery enablement work for the Pepper platform and upcoming chat assistant initiatives.

This engineer will ensure that development teams have reliable, secure, and scalable environments that align with enterprise architecture and engineering standards. You’ll play a key role in designing platform foundations, implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, optimizing observability, and partnering closely with application teams to improve reliability and delivery speed.

This role is ideal for someone who has deep Azure experience, loves building automation, thinks security‑first, and thrives at the intersection of DevOps, SRE, and cloud platform engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Azure Cloud Engineering: Build, deploy, and optimize cloud environments in Azure, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
  • CI/CD Development: Create, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to enable fast, repeatable, and high‑quality releases.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Implement and support infrastructure automation using Terraform or Bicep, ensuring consistent and version‑controlled cloud deployments.
  • Observability & Monitoring: Set up and maintain logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts, and distributed tracing to enhance visibility and incident response.
  • Security & Governance: Implement and enforce best practices across secrets management, identity and access control, network policies, encryption, and compliance.
  • Environment Provisioning: Build automated processes for provisioning development, staging, and production environments.
  • Partnership with Engineering Teams: Work closely with application teams to improve reliability, performance, delivery speed, and platform adoption.
  • Automation Mindset: Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes through scripting, automation, and platform enhancements.
  • Reliability & Delivery Enablement: Contribute to blue/green or canary deployment strategies, incident readiness, and runbook creation.
  • Platform Innovation: Support emerging GenAI infrastructure needs such as vector store support, model gateways, prompt/key management, and rate‑limiting.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidate must be located in Latin America (LATAM), with Mexico preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Azure cloud services, including compute, networking, identity, security, and storage.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform or Bicep).
  • Experience with observability tooling—logs, dashboards, metrics, tracing, alerting.
  • Strong security mindset: secrets management, least‑privilege IAM, network security, and data protection.
  • Experience partnering with development teams to improve system reliability, performance, and delivery velocity.
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with GenAI / LLM platform enablement, including vector databases, model gateways, and key/prompt management.
  • Familiarity with cost optimization practices for Azure workloads.
  • Experience with incident response, runbook creation, and SRE best practices.
  • Knowledge of blue/green or canary deployment strategies.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Why Join Us?
  • High‑Impact Role: Build the foundational cloud, CI/CD, and automation capabilities powering modern AI‑driven products.
  • Flexibility: 100% remote role based in LATAM with flexible hours.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architecture, engineering, and product teams across global environments.
  • Growth: Expand your expertise in Azure, DevOps automation, observability, and emerging GenAI infrastructure patterns.
