A global supply chain leader seeks a Planning Team Lead to guide a team of planners in ensuring high-quality customer support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Supply Chain Management, proven leadership capabilities, and excellent problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include overseeing customer support initiatives, mentoring new planners, and driving efficiency improvements. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree and an MBA in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.

Overview

The “Planning Team Lead – PS” plays a critical role in leading a team of supply planners and drives value to the customers support organization. The Lead should display excellent interpersonal skills to build quality relationships with the team and with customers, be goal-driven, and manage the day-to-day activities of the team efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of planners ensuring high quality and effective customer support activities including reviewing and resolving customer support issues, alerts, target stock level delta review, supply orders execution, etc.
  • Quality assurance and root cause resolution for repeat issues
  • Team meetings, planner 1:1, leave management, annual reviews, employee development
  • Enforce that the team uses and adheres to the escalation Tier process
  • Responsible for new planner onboarding, including developing training plan, training and mentoring.
  • Ensure smooth customer support for new customers:
    • Review the readiness of customer documentation.
    • Partner with planning / customer success team for new customer introduction for customer support readiness.
  • Work with the Planning Managers to address challenges and opportunities
  • Identify and drive the efficiency improvement initiatives including processes, automation and team skillset.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and MBA in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of prior Supply Chain Management experience with 1 year of Prophet or similar Planning system experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Capability to work independently and in cross-functional teams that are passionate about delivering value to customers
  • Ability to perform challenging tasks under the pressure of an environment where results can have a large monetary impact to customers
  • Strong initiative and competitive attitude to review processes and define better methods for supporting customers and optimizing supply chains
  • Creative problem solving and technical skills including advanced Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, VLookup, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree with MBA in Business, Operations,
    Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills to give the team direction
