Holtec in Madrid is seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer to perform detailed piping stress analyses, ensuring integrity and compliance of piping systems under diverse conditions.

You will use AutoPIPE or CAESAR II, develop stress design bases, evaluate thermal and seismic effects, and coordinate with layout, materials, and structural teams to optimize pipe routing and supports. The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree and 5+ years of experience, with strong reporting skills.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of piping stress analysis experience.
• Proficiency with AutoPIPE or CAESAR II software.
• Knowledge of ASME NB, NCD, B31.1 and B31.3 codes.
• Ability to interpret layouts and isometrics; strong reporting skills.

Responsabilidades

• Perform piping stress analysis (static and dynamic) using AutoPIPE or CAESAR II.
• Develop stress design basis, critical line lists, and analysis procedures.
• Evaluate thermal expansion, sustained and occasional loads, seismic effects.
• Provide design recommendations including support locations/types and routing.
• Analyze and mitigate high piping loads on equipment nozzles; ensure code compliance.
• Select spring hangers to accommodate thermal expansion and loads.
• Generate and review stress reports, calculations, and design documents.
• Coordinate with pipe support engineers and layout/materials/structural teams.
• Support 3D modeling efforts, clash detection, and routing optimization.
• Assist construction teams by resolving field piping stress issues.
