The In vivo Organ Generation by Stem Cells Group at CIMA – University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, invites a highly motivated PhD student to join our team to study generating humanized organs using pluripotent stem cells and blastocyst complementation.

The successful candidate will work at the intersection of stem cell biology, developmental biology, and biomedical engineering, with training in embryo manipulation, genome editing, single-cell genomics, and cross-species chimerism, contributing

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences or related field (avg ≥8.5/10).
  • Master's degree providing access to PhD studies (completed in 2026 or expected in 2027).
  • Strong interest in stem cell biology, developmental biology and regenerative medicine.
  • Good level of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.

Responsabilidades

  • Work at the intersection of stem cell biology, developmental biology, interspecies chimerism and biomedical engineering.
  • Develop mechanisms to understand and improve human–animal interspecies chimerism.
  • Study cell competition and selective elimination between donor and host cells.
  • Investigate developmental requirements for generating specific organs and translate to models.
  • Apply advanced genomic and single-cell approaches to characterize chimeric embryos and tissues.

Conocimientos

Interest in stem cell biology
English proficiency
Independent yet collaborative
Lab research experience

Educación

Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field
Master's degree access to PhD studies
