Job summary

Sandoz International GmbH, a leading provider of biosimilars and generics, invites a Project Engineer to drive capital projects at our Barcelona-area site. You will lead engineering initiatives, ensure GMP compliance, qualification and change control, and coordinate internal teams and external suppliers to deliver on time and within budget.

You will promote safety, quality, and sustainability while advancing process improvements in sterile manufacturing.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering (industrial/mechanical/chemical).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering project management within regulated manufacturing.
• Proven experience managing capital investment projects from concept to handover.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, equipment qualification, validation, and change control.
• Experience with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and external suppliers.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with compliance to quality, safety, budget and timeline.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across functions.
• Commitment to safety, quality, sustainability and operational excellence.
• Fluent in Spanish and English; Catalan is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead Engineering projects from conceptual phase through commissioning with defined scope and budget.
• Ensure compliance with project management procedures and corporate requirements.
• Design robust solutions and specify user requirements; collaborate on specifications.
• Coordinate contracting, supervision of external services, and budget control.
• Draft and sign work permits for general and special works; manage change control.
• Identify risks and implement preventive measures; ensure qualification and requalification aligned to standards.
• Propose energy efficiency and sustainability projects; support internal/external audits.
• Maintain safety and quality in aseptic production areas; investigate deviations and CAPAs.
• Maintain strong collaboration with Engineering Manager and Head of Engineering & Maintenance.
