Job summary

Cognizant Spain is seeking a Pega Senior Architect to lead end-to-end BPM/Pega programs from Madrid, with remote work from Spain. You will align business goals with technology delivery while mentoring engineers and engaging senior stakeholders. The role requires 10+ years IT delivery experience, strong Java/J2EE, REST, cloud (Kubernetes), and Agile delivery.

English is mandatory; Spanish is a plus. You will drive solution design, govern SDLC, and support pre-sales while advancing AI/GenAI

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT delivery with BPM/Java/Cloud exposure.
• Proven end-to-end delivery of large programs or multiple projects.
• Strong technical background: Java/J2EE, REST APIs, Microservices.
• Experience in Agile delivery models (Scrum/Kanban) and full SDLC.
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders (technical and non-technical).
• Experience leading global, distributed teams.
• Excellent English (mandatory); Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of BPM/Pega projects with quality and on-time goals.
• Serve as primary client liaison for business and IT leadership.
• Drive solution design with Enterprise and Solution Architects.
• Mentor multidisciplinary teams across geographies.
• Oversee delivery across Java/J2EE, REST, Cloud (Kubernetes), and BPM (Pega).
• Ensure Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban) are followed and improved.
• Govern SDLC and manage planning, risk, and delivery tracking.
• Ensure quality via reviews, tests, and defect resolution coordination.
• Support pre-sales, RFPs, and practice growth with global leadership.
• Promote AI/GenAI adoption in BPM processes and workflows.
• Align delivery with business goals and measurable value.
