Job summary

Placements24 collaborates with a reputable child and adolescent wellness center in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, seeking a Clinical Psychologist specializing in pediatrics. You will conduct assessments, provide therapies, and work with families and pediatric teams in a multidisciplinary setting.

The role requires HPCSA registration, a Master’s/Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, and 4–6 years of post-qualification experience with youth. The position is full-time and on-site in Queenstown.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university.
• Registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Psychologist.
• 4–6 years of post-qualification experience with children/adolescents in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychological assessments, including diagnostic interviews and psychometric testing for pediatric clients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for children and adolescents.
• Provide psychotherapy (CBT/DBT/play therapy) for anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, pediatricians, teachers, and social workers.
• Offer psychoeducation to families on child development and coping strategies.
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records per standards.
• Attend case conferences and contribute to multidisciplinary planning.
• Stay current with pediatric psychology advances and continue supervision.
• Advocate for pediatric mental health needs in the Queenstown community.
