Vylor, formerly Corteva's seed and genetics unit, seeks a Pathology specialist to deliver molecular diagnostics and greenhouse phenotyping in Sevilla. You will own PCR/RT‑PCR workflows, ensure data quality, and help drive throughput in a fast‑paced research environment.

Formación

• Master’s degree in Plant Pathology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with PCR / RT‑PCR and pathogen detection.
• Experience in an applied research or diagnostic lab environment.
• Strong execution mindset with attention to data quality.

Responsabilidades

• Execute and coordinate PCR and RT‑PCR‑based pathogen diagnostics with high accuracy and consistency.
• Provide input into phenotyping strategies and disease screening approaches.
• Own daily molecular workflows including sample preparation, assay execution, and results delivery.
• Support greenhouse disease phenotyping activities, aligning phenotypic and molecular data.
• Ensure data quality, traceability, and documentation across lab workflows.
• Contribute to SOP adherence and continuous improvement of lab processes.
• Contribute to medium and long‑term pathology strategy, including tech upgrades.

Role Overview

The Pathology specialist supports Corteva’s Pathology & Trait Discovery objectives by delivering high‑quality molecular diagnostics and greenhouse‑based phenotyping in support of research programs. This role is execution‑focused, with primary ownership of molecular diagnostics workflows, and operates in close coordination with the Pathology Leader and cross‑functional partners.

The position is critical to sustaining operational throughput, data quality, and turnaround time as the Sevilla Pathology lab expands its molecular and high‑throughput phenotyping capabilities.

Key Accountabilities

• Execute and coordinate PCR and RT‑PCR‑based pathogen diagnostics with high accuracy and consistency.
• Provide scientific input into phenotyping strategies and disease screening approaches
• Own daily molecular workflows include sample preparation, assay execution, and results delivery.
• Support greenhouse disease phenotyping activities, ensuring alignment between phenotypic and molecular data.
• Ensure data quality, traceability, and documentation across lab workflows.
• Contribute to SOP adherence and continuous improvement of lab processes.
• Contribute to medium and long‑term pathology strategy, including technology upgrades and capability expansion.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in plant Pathology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with PCR / RT‑PCR and pathogen detection.
• Experience working in an applied research or diagnostic laboratory environment.
• Strong execution mindset with attention to detail and data quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with plant pathogens and disease diagnostics.
• Exposure to greenhouse or controlled‑environment phenotyping.
• English and Spanish language skills.
