An Intellectual Property Agency is seeking a qualified European Patent Attorney to join their team in Girona, Spain. The role involves assessing R&D developments in digital solutions, providing IP counseling, and managing patent prosecution. Ideal candidates have a degree in industrial engineering or related fields, with over 5 years of industry experience, particularly in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential for this position.

Formación

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotechnology.
• Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• Experience in searching for and preparing reports on patentability and FTO opinions.

Responsabilidades

• Assess innovative R&D developments and provide IP advisory counsel.
• Prepare patent landscape and FTO analysis.
• Perform state-of-the-art and patentability search reports.
• Maintain internal IP databases.
• Manage global prosecution of patents rights.
• Draft oppositions/appeal proceedings before the EPO.

The Role :

We are looking for a talented, fully or partially Qualified European Patent Attorney to join the team based in Girona.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assessing innovative R&D developments and Digital solutions in close collaboration with technical and scientific staff and business units, providing IP advisory counsel
• Preparation of patent landscape and FTO analysis for EU and global R&D pipeline
• Performing state-of-the-art and patentability search reports
• Maintenance of internal IP and corresponding databases
• Global prosecution of patents rights
• Participating in and dealing with drafting oppositions / appeal proceedings and observations before the EPO
• Providing validity opinions and infringement advice to the relevant R&D and business units

The Candidate :

• Degree in industrial engineering or related disciplines including electronic engineering, software engineering, artificial intelligence and / or related
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry, preferably in pharmaceutical or / and biotechnology industries
• Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as in searching for and preparing reports on patentability and FTO (Freedom to Operate) opinions
• Experience in medical devices or industrial products would be appreciated
• Excellent command in English and Spanish
• Strong technical, writing, communication and analytical skills
