A leading Intellectual Property agency in Girona is seeking a fully or partially qualified European Patent Attorney. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, specifically in pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors. Responsibilities include providing IP advisory, preparing patent landscape and FTO analysis, and drafting oppositions for the EPO. Excellent proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.

Formación

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotechnology.
• Experience in medical devices or industrial products is appreciated.

The Company :

We are partnered with a pharmaceutical and biotechnical company, with a solid international presence, focused on the prevention and diagnosis for animal and human health.

The Role :

We are looking for a talented, fully or partially Qualified European Patent Attorney to join the team based in Girona.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assessing innovative R&D developments and Digital solutions in close collaboration with technical and scientific staff and business units, providing IP advisory counsel
• Preparation of patent landscape and FTO analysis for EU and global R&D pipeline
• Performing state-of-the-art and patentability search reports
• Maintenance of internal IP and corresponding databases
• Global prosecution of patents rights
• Participating in and dealing with drafting oppositions / appeal proceedings and observations before the EPO
• Providing validity opinions and infringement advice to the relevant R&D and business units

The Candidate :

• Degree in industrial engineering or related disciplines including electronic engineering, software engineering, artificial intelligence and / or related
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry, preferably in pharmaceutical or / and biotechnology industries
• Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as in searching for and preparing reports on patentability and FTO (Freedom to Operate) opinions
• Experience in medical devices or industrial products would be appreciated
• Excellent command in English and Spanish
• Strong technical, writing, communication and analytical skills
