Job summary

EPM Scientific in Madrid is seeking a Packaging Technician to provide hands-on laboratory and packaging support. You will work closely with Packaging Engineers on development projects across a global network.

You will set up and operate packaging laboratory equipment, perform tests such as seal strength and burst tests, document results and help ensure quality and compliance with GMP/ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, packaging, lab or technical support.
• Hands-on operation of production or testing equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.
• Able to work independently with engineers.
• Good organizational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain packaging lab equipment.
• Support packaging development and validation activities.
• Perform package integrity and performance testing, including seal strength testing, burst testing, visual inspections, material evaluation.
• Operate thermoforming and sealing equipment.
• Prepare test samples and support packaging trials.
• Troubleshoot equipment and support routine maintenance activities.
• Manage laboratory inventory, consumables and spare parts.
• Record and maintain accurate testing documentation.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new laboratory equipment.
• Work closely with Packaging Engineers on development and improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality procedures.
• Assist with investigations and root cause analysis related to packaging performance.

About the Opportunity

We are supporting a global Medical Device organisation in the expansion of its Packaging Development function in Madrid. This team plays a critical role in supporting packaging development, testing, validation and manufacturing activities across a global network of R&D and manufacturing sites.

As a Packaging Technician, you will provide hands‑on laboratory and packaging support, working closely with Packaging Engineers to execute development projects, perform testing activities and ensure packaging systems meet required quality and performance standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with packaging, manufacturing, laboratory or technical operations experience who enjoys working in a practical, hands‑on environment.

Responsibilities

• Comfortable working in a laboratory and development environment.
• Good organisational and documentation skills.
