Descripción de la vacante

Persán, líder en productos de cuidado del hogar y personal, busca un Ingeniero de Packaging de I+D para liderar la estrategia de materiales de una categoría de envasado, asegurando un equilibrio entre sostenibilidad, rendimiento y coste. Gestionará roadmaps y la adecuación de las líneas de producción de alto ritmo.

El candidato ideal aportará 5 años en I+D de Packaging/Materials, experiencia en liderazgo de categoría, inglés B2 y capacidad de colaborar entre I+D, operaciones y suministro.

Formación

  • Licenciatura o máster en ingeniería o campo relacionado.
  • Inglés alto (B2 mínimo).
  • 5 años de experiencia en I+D de Packaging/Materials en FMCG/CPG o similar.

Responsabilidades

  • Estrategia y hoja de ruta de la categoría; definir plan de materiales (innovación, reducción de costes, sostenibilidad).
  • Desarrollo e industrialización de materiales; pruebas de concepto y validaciones en planta.
  • Especificaciones, calidad y cumplimiento; métodos de ensayo y trazabilidad.
  • Selección y gestión de proveedores técnicos; criterios con Compras; sourcing técnico.
  • Mejora continua en planta (OEEs, SMED, reducción de scrap); formación de equipos.
  • Gestión de proyectos y reporting; liderar proyectos fase-gate; KPIs y matriz de categoría.

R&D Packaging Category Expert
Mission

Lead the innovation and standardization strategy for a category of packaging materials (e.g., cardboard/fiber or rigid/flexible plastics), ensuring a balance between sustainability, performance, cost, and machinability. You will be the key contact for defining material roadmaps, commercializing new solutions, and ensuring the “pack-machine fit” on high-speed production lines.

The activities will be able to perform at several plants of the group in Europe depending on the project.

Main Responsabilities
  • Category strategy & roadmap: Define and execute a materials plan (innovation, cost‑out, light‑weighting, sustainability/regulation), aligned with R&D, Operations, Sustainability and the Business.
  • Materials development & industrialization: Conduct scouting and proofs‑of‑concept; scale to plant with formal validations (FAT/SAT/VAT, industrial trials, line trials, run‑at‑rate), ensuring pack‑to‑machine fit on high-speed lines.
  • Specifications, quality & compliance: Create/update material specifications and deadlines/drawings; define test methods (e.g., top‑load, compression, drop, transport) and manage change control with full traceability and applicable regulations.
  • Technical sourcing & suppliers: Identify/approve/develop suppliers; agree technical criteria with Procurement, establish alternatives (dual‑sourcing) and manage performance (capability, stability, total cost of packaging).
  • Plant continuous improvement: Drive OEE improvements, SMED for format changes, and reductions in scrap/waste and packaging‑related complaints; train site teams on new materials and standards.
  • Project management & reporting: Lead stage‑gate projects with timelines, risk management (FMEA), budget and stakeholders; report KPIs and maintain the category matrix (materials, risks, costs, footprint).
Requirements of the profile
Academic Background
  • Bachelor´s or master’s degree in engineering (Industrial Design, Materials, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering) or a related field.
  • High level of English (B2 at least)

Technical Skills: 5 years of experience in Packaging/Materials R&D in FMCG/CPG, pharmaceuticals, or related industries, including 2+ years in a category management or technical leadership role for materials.

Soft Skills: Communication skills, analytic skills, ability to work in teams, active listening ability, ability to work.under pressure, results oriented, capacity of innovation, problem solving ability.
