Noatum Maritime Services in Bilbao is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize end-to-end operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable service delivery. You will oversee supplier performance, compliance, and team leadership while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

The role requires a vocational or bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field, at least 10 years in logistics or project cargo, and strong English skills.

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing end-to-end operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of services. This role oversees operational execution, supplier performance, compliance, and team leadership while driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across all activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Operations Management: Lead and manage end-to-end operations, ensuring seamless coordination and execution across all phases of service delivery.
  • Project Execution: Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and in a cost-effective manner while maintaining high service quality standards.
  • Supplier Management: Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure service excellence, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with HSE policies, quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Operational Performance: Monitor operational KPIs, service levels, productivity, and profitability, implementing corrective actions when required.
  • Process Improvement & Digitalization: Foster innovation and support the implementation of digital solutions and process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
  • People Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team, driving accountability, performance, talent growth, collaboration, continuous improvement, safety, and customer focus.
  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives, supporting business growth, strengthening stakeholder relationships, mitigating risks, and enabling informed decision-making to drive long-term business success.

  • Vocational or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Project Management are considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience within logistics, breakbulk, project cargo, or related sectors.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end logistics operations, multimodal transportation, operational planning, and project cargo environments.
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end logistics operations, complex cargo movements, and project cargo activities.
  • Professional English (spoken and written) - minimum C1 level.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is considered an advantage.
  • Strong track record in leading operational teams and driving operational excellence, focusing on efficiency, quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience managing suppliers, service providers, and multiple stakeholders in dynamic business environments.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving, risk management, communication, and decision-making skills.
