Hitachi ABB Power Grids is seeking an Operations HSE Specialist to lead and continuously improve HSE programs across EU HUB operations in Spain. The role emphasizes risk management, incident prevention, and proactive safety culture across sites in Europe.

This position will provide HSE leadership and support to business HUNB operations, ensuring effective risk management, employee engagement, contractor safety, incident prevention, and continuous improvement of HSE performance.
The Operations HSE Specialist will be responsible for leading, implementing, and continuously improving Health, Safety and Environmental programs across Hitachi Energy operations in the EU HUB.
Supporting business leaders in achieving HSE objectives and fostering a positive safety culture.
Ensuring compliance with applicable legal, customer, and corporate HSE requirements.
Conducting risk assessments and supporting the implementation of effective mitigation measures.
Monitoring HSE performance indicators and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Leading incident investigations and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
Supporting contractor management, site inspections, audits, and management reviews.
Delivering HSE training, awareness programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote best practices and operational excellence.
Supporting sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives.
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field; knowledge of high-voltage and medium-voltage environments is highly valued.
5 to 10 years of Operational HSE experience, preferably within the energy sector.
Strong expertise in electrical safety and supporting safe operations in complex industrial settings.
Proven track record of implementing and driving HSE improvement programmes and translating global strategies into effective local execution.
Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions, cultures, and locations.
Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement.
Fluent English is mandatory; Spanish language skills would be considered an advantage.
Willingness to travel approximately 25-30% across Europe.
