Mirantis, Inc. is seeking an Open Source Engineering Lead to inspire and manage a distributed team responsible for k0s and k0smotron. You will drive technical direction, maintain high engineering standards, and engage with the CNCF and Kubernetes communities.

The role is hands-on and requires leading engineers, contributing to upstream projects, and representing Mirantis in industry events. Madrid, onsite, with strong leadership expectations.

Formación

• 10+ years professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on Kubernetes architecture, control plane, and infra tech.
• Experience leading open source teams.
• Go programming and production code contribution.
• Proven GitHub-based OSS workflows experience.
• Excellent English communication; global async work.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a distributed team of engineers on k0s and k0smotron.
• Set engineering priorities and give autonomy to senior engineers.
• Conduct 1:1s, provide feedback, and participate in hiring/onboarding.
• Build an engineering culture based on excellence and ownership.
• Grow maintainers and contributor community across CNCF.
• Provide technical direction for k0s and related projects.
• Participate in architecture, design reviews, debugging, and PR reviews.
• Track upstream Kubernetes and reflect changes in the roadmap.
• Balance technical debt with features and ecosystem needs.
