ABOUT OKU

‘OKU’ is derived from the Japanese spiritual and architectural concept meaning ‘inner space’. OKU Hotels is a boutique collection of thoughtfully curated, laid-back luxury hotels designed for the modern traveler. Our sanctuaries emphasize barefoot luxury, local connections, and slow living.

Headquartered in London, OKU Hotels currently operates in Ibiza and Kos, with plans to open properties in Turkey, Spain, and the Maldives. Our goal is to own and operate over ten exclusive properties worldwide within the next five years.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs across the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
2. Conduct preventative maintenance on hotel equipment and systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
3. Respond promptly to guest requests and maintenance issues, minimizing disruptions.
4. Troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance problems, implementing effective solutions.
5. Maintain the hotel's swimming pools and related equipment.
6. Ensure the upkeep of hotel grounds and landscaping.
7. Adhere to safety and security procedures, including fire safety protocols.
8. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., housekeeping, front desk) to ensure seamless operations.
9. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Passionate about hospitality with an enthusiastic demeanor, eager to embody the OKU philosophy.
• Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems and equipment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in Spanish; additional languages are a plus.
