Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is seeking an Offshore Structural and Subsea Equipment Engineer to support the Subsea System engineering group. You will design subsea structures and equipment with autonomy, applying international codes and using FEA/FEM tools to meet project requirements.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate designers, and contribute to technical requisitions, supplier evaluations, and delivery of engineering deliverables.

Formación

• Master's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5 years of experience in offshore structural engineering or subsea system engineering.
• Proficiency with Abaqus, SACS, and Inventor; knowledge of international codes and standards.

Responsabilidades

• Within EPIC bids and projects, perform mechanical and structural design of subsea structures using FEA/FEM with high autonomy.
• Coordinate junior engineers, designers and consultants; provide technical guidance and mentoring.
• Develop expertise in subsea equipment (Subsea Valves, Diverless Connectors, Subsea Flexible Pipes) for technical requisitions and supplier evaluations.
• Plan and maintain engineering deliverables register; monitor progress against milestones; escalate issues to Project Management.
• Collaborate in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams and share knowledge across disciplines.

Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saipem S.p.A. SOC brings together all operational activities in Italy related to fabrication, technical services, maintenance, and logistics, providing essential support for the execution of offshore construction and offshore wind projects.

Purpose of the position:

As Offshore Structural and Subsea Equipment Engineer, you will respond to the Team Leader for subsea structure and equipment within the group of Subsea System enginering and be part of the Assed Based Services Business Line.

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

• Within EPIC bids and projects, you shall perform the mechanical and structural design of subsea structures, working with a high degree of autonomy with design software (FEA and FEM). The role requires solid knowledge of international codes, standards, and recommended practices, ensuring compliance with project requirements thru cost-effective design solutions.
• Depending on the assigned task, you may coordinate junior engineers, designers, and consultants, providing technical guidance and mentoring. The role includes promoting knowledge sharing and supporting the professional development of the engineering team.
• You will have the opportunity to develop expertise in key subsea equipment, including Subsea Valves, Diverless Connectors, Subsea Flexible Pipes, and other special components of subsea production systems. This knowledge shall be applied to the preparation of technical requisitions, supplier technical evaluations and alignment, ensuring compliance with project specifications and operational requirements.
• If requested, you shall be able to plan and organize in detail the activities necessary to perform the assigned task, define and maintain the engineering deliverables register, and monitor the completion progress against project milestones. The role requires ensuring timely delivery of assigned work and promptly escalating criticalities to the Project Management Team.
• with demonstrated ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams, you shall proactively share technical knowledge and expertise, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and soliciting input and embracing constructive feedback from the other discipline engineers working in your same project.

What are we looking for?

Education:

Master's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 5 years

Languages: English and Italian

Technical/IT Skills: SIMULIA Abaqus, Bentley SACS, and Autodesk Inventor.

What else should you know?

You will have the opportunity to travel abroad based on the projects you will work. International travel may be required to support project execution and business needs. Assignments may include visits to other engineering execution centers or to suppliers of critical subsea equipment for inspections and vendor support activities. In particular, your presence may be at fabrication yards during the manufacturing, assembly, testing, and qualification phases of subsea structures designed by the Engineer. In this role, the Engineer shall provide technical assistance, support issue resolution, and contribute to the successful delivery and acceptance of the final product.
