Job summary

Freight People Recruitment CZ is seeking an Ocean Freight Operations Specialist to join our operations team in a fast-paced, international environment. You will manage and coordinate ocean freight shipments, from bookings to vessel departure, while maintaining clear communication with customers, suppliers and agents worldwide.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in ocean freight operations, strong Spanish and English skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to ensure on-time,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ocean freight operations experience in a freight forwarding company.
• Experience handling ocean freight exports and imports is highly desirable.
• Native-level Spanish with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Advanced English for international communications.
• Catalan is a plus.
• Knowledge of ocean freight documentation and operational processes.
• Strong organisational and planning skills with attention to detail.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and customer-focused with teamwork ability.

Responsibilities

We are looking to welcome an Ocean Freight Operations Specialist to our operations team, with minimum 2 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating ocean freight shipments, ensuring an efficient, high-quality service and maintaining smooth communication with customers, suppliers and international agents. The role will also involve shipment invoicing, cost forecasting and cost control, helping to ensure the profitability of each shipment file.

We are looking for an organised, proactive and solution-oriented professional with strong communication skills who enjoys working in a dynamic, international environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate ocean freight shipments (exports and imports).
• Track shipments from booking through to vessel departure and completion of the operational process.
• Coordinate shipments with shipping lines, international agents, suppliers and customers.
• Handle bookings, transport documentation and shipping instructions.

Requirements:

• Experience: minimum 2 years of experience in ocean freight operations within a freight forwarding company.
• Ocean Freight Experience: Previous experience managing ocean freight export and import shipments is highly desirable.
• Spanish: Native-level proficiency, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• English: Advanced proficiency, with the ability to communicate confidently in calls, meetings and professional correspondence with international customers, suppliers and agents.
• Catalan: Considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of ocean freight documentation and operational processes.
• Strong organisational and planning skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Proactive, solution-oriented and customer-focused, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
