Job summary

maxon in Barcelona is seeking a Network Engineer to run and improve its Aruba network, including Wi-Fi, LAN and ClearPass. You will join a small ICT security team and collaborate with security and firewall colleagues in a hybrid work setup.

Based in Barcelona with occasional travel to Switzerland, you will deploy Wi-Fi 7 access points, manage Aruba switches, and ensure ISO 27001 compliance while meeting SLAs. A degree in network engineering plus 2–3 years of experience are required.

• Run WAN/LAN lifecycle projects, including AP and switch rollout.
• Monitor and ensure ISO 27001 compliance across LAN/WLAN.
• Provide network insights to security team and support incident analysis.
• Collaborate with firewall team and external suppliers.
• Deliver Wi‑Fi service within company SLAs and apply security features.

apeirum is recruiting on behalf of maxon for a Network Engineer in Barcelona. This is a permanent position employed directly by maxon; apeirum runs the selection process.

As Network Engineer you will run and improve maxon's Aruba network: Wi-Fi, LAN and ClearPass. You'll join a small ICT security team and work closely with the security and firewall colleagues. Hybrid in Barcelona (3 days office, 2 remote), with occasional travel to Switzerland (5–10%).

Tasks

• Configure and maintain the latest Aruba Wi-Fi environment through Aruba Central.
• Configure and maintain Aruba ClearPass (NAC, authentication, access policies).
• Run the Wi-Fi and LAN lifecycle project, including rollout of new access points and switches.
• Monitor and meet ISO 27001 requirements across LAN/WLAN.
• Give the security team network insights and support incident analysis.
• Work with the firewall team and external suppliers.
• Run the Wi-Fi service to company SLAs and bring in current security features.

Requirements

Must have:

• Hands-on experience with Aruba Central.
• Deploying and managing Wi-Fi 7 access points.
• Aruba ClearPass administration.
• Managing Aruba AOS-CX switches.
• HPE Aruba Networking certification (ACSP / ACX).
• Clear communication with IT and business colleagues.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, especially where security is involved.
• Experience working in a small team together with external suppliers.
• Degree in network engineering or related + 2–3 years' experience.
• Based in Barcelona.
