OPTIMAES TALENT SEARCH is seeking a Demand Forecasting professional to build accurate forecasts by integrating historical data, commercial plans and market insights. The role supports availability and inventory optimization while aligning Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance and Retail teams.

You will develop short to long-term forecasts, analyze drivers, and contribute to S&OP processes using Excel and BI tools. Fluency in English and Spanish is valued for cross-border collaboration.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Admin, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics.
  • 3-5 years in demand planning, forecasting, or similar analytics roles.
  • Understanding of retail or consumer-goods dynamics and planning indicators.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop and maintain short, medium and long-term demand forecasts by product, channel and market.
  • Analyze historical sales, seasonality, trends, promotions and launches to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Review forecast exceptions and adjust plans using quantitative inputs.
  • Collaborate with marketing, finance and retailers to align demand with commercial plans.
  • Prepare reports and present risks, opportunities and actions to stakeholders.

MISSION

Build accurate and reliable demand forecasts by combining historical sales data, commercial plans, market trends and business insights. The role supports product availability, inventory optimization and commercial performance by creating a shared demand view and facilitating alignment across Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance and Retail teams.

RESPONSABILITIES
Demand Forecasting and Planning
  • Develop and maintain short, médium and long-term demand forecasts at the appropriate product, channel and market level.
  • Analyze historical sales, seasonality, trends, promotional activity, launches and business assumptions to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Review forecast exceptions and adjust demand plans based on quantitative analysis and validated business inputs.
Commercial Collaboration and Business Alignment
  • Partner with Category Management / Offer, Marketing, Retail, E-commerce and Finance to integrate commercial plans into the demand
  • Challenge and validate assumptions related to launches, promotions, brand animations, events and other commercial initiatives.
  • Facilitate demand review meetings and contribute to the S&OP process by presenting risks, opportunities and recommended actions.
Launches, Promotions and Key Trading Periods
  • Prepare forecasts for new product launches, key commercial periods, promotional campaigns and brand activations.
  • Monitor actual sales versus forecast during critical events and update projections when required.
  • Coordinate phase-in and phase-out assumptions to support availability while limiting excess and obsolete stock risk.
Performance Analysis and Continuous Improvement
  • Track and analyze demand planning KPIs, including forecast accuracy, forecast bias and forecast value added.
  • Identify forecast gaps, root causes and improvement opportunities by category, brand, SKU and sales channel.
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters, assumptions and master data in forecasting and ERP systems.
  • Prepare regular reports and translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations for business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process, system and data-quality improvements across the demand planning cycle.
INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

Supply Planning, Logistics, Category Management / Offer, Marketing, Retail, E-commerce, Finance, Data / IT and Business Intelligence teams.

Regional and central Supply Chain teams, including international stakeholders and headquarters teams.

EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

Brands, suppliers and external partners providing commercial, market or planning information.

PROFILE DESCRIPTION
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret large data sets and translate them into clear business insights.
  • Solid understanding of demand forecasting, statistical analysis, seasonality and inventory-related concepts.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with demand planning, ERP and business intelligence tools such as SAP, JDA, Anaplan, Power BI or equivalent is highly valued.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple categories, deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Effective communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
  • Previous experience in demand planning, forecasting, business analysis, supply chain planning or a comparable analytical role.
  • Understanding of retail or consumer-goods dynamics, commercial calendars and demand planning performance indicators.
EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, business analysis or a similar supply chain role. Experience in retail, beauty, fashion, FMCG or an omnichannel environment is an advantage.

Languages Fluent Spanish and strong professional English. Portuguese is an advantage.
