Scopely is seeking a Motion Design Lead to join the Flamed team in our Barcelona office on a hybrid basis. You will lead a team of artists across the Scopely Explore portfolio, setting the creative direction for motion design, animation, and compositing.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in motion design, proven leadership, an outstanding reel, and fluency in English. Proficiency with After Effects, Cinema 4D, Octane, and Photoshop is required, with a passion for mobile games.

• 7+ years of experience in motion design, with at least 2 years in a lead role.
• An excellent video reel that demonstrates expert-level motion design and animation.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Proficient with standard tools: After Effects, Cinema 4D, Octane, Photoshop.
• Strong art direction, storytelling, and visual taste.
• Solid understanding of coordinating teams in creative environments.

Scopely is looking for a Motion Design Lead to join our Marketing Creative Services team, Flamed, in our Barcelona office on a hybrid basis.

We are Flamed, the in-house creative agency, an international multidisciplinary team. We produce thousands of creatives each year to support the global marketing needs of all Scopely games.

In this role, you will lead a team of artists working across the Scopely Explore portfolio, formerly known as Niantic, including Pokémon GO, Monster Hunter Now, and Pikmin Bloom. Depending on business needs, you may also support other IPs within Scopely’s extensive portfolio.

What You Will Do

• Lead and oversee motion design projects for Scopely Explore portfolio, from concept through final delivery.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with creative directors, producers, and internal/external artists to ensure quality, consistency, and on-brand execution.
• Provide artistic and technical direction on motion design, animation, and compositing.
• Review and guide vendors to ensure alignment with the visual identity and performance goals of the brands.
• Mentor and support internal artists, helping develop their creative and technical growth.
• Contribute to visual development, style frames, and storyboards, setting the artistic tone for each piece.
• Work with an attention to detail attitude in a constructive cross-feedback environment.

What You Will Need

• 7+ years of experience in motion design, animation, or related fields, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• An excellent video reel that demonstrates expert-level motion design and animation.
• Proficient in the standard tools of the trade: After Effects, Cinema 4D, Octane Render Engine and Photoshop.
• Excellent art direction, storytelling, and visual taste.
• Solid understanding of team coordination in creative environments.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• A collaborative mindset and passion for creative excellence.
• Passionate of mobile games, especially Pokémon GO, Monster Hunter Now, and Pikmin Bloom is a plus.

Bonus Point

• Hands-on experience using Unreal Engine to produce cinematic-quality renders.
• Additional knowledge of Unity is a plus.
• Strong understanding of Social Media, Performance Marketing, and User Acquisition creatives.
• Proactive interest in AI-assisted design tools and their creative applications.
• A showreel is an essential requirement, and if available, you may also include a portfolio.
