The British School of Barcelona Castelldefels campus seeks two full-time, fixed-term Monitors from September 2026 to ensure student safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour across the school day.

Role includes supervising lunchtime and playground, managing bus safety, supporting teachers, and helping with personal care while maintaining safeguarding standards.

Formación

• Native-level or fluent proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Previous experience working with minors in a similar role is essential.
• Training as a Leisure and Free Time Instructor is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and support students during lunchtime, promoting healthy eating habits, good hygiene and positive behaviour.
• Ensure student safety and wellbeing during break times through active playground supervision and inclusive play.
• Oversee students on the school bus, ensuring safe and orderly boarding, travel and disembarking.
• Support teachers and students throughout the school day, including transitions, wraparound care, personal care and assistance with individual student needs.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, attendance monitoring and supervision across all assigned areas.

About the school

The British School of Barcelona (BSB) is an HMC school judged outstanding by a recent BSO inspection in every area, including quality of education, safeguarding, pupil welfare and academic outcomes. The school serves approximately 2350 students aged 3 to 18 from more than 74 nationalities and employs over 335 staff across multiple campuses in Castelldefels, Sitges, Barcelona and, from September 2026, the Maresme area.

The role

We are seeking two full-time, fixed-term Monitors to join the BSB Castelldefels campus from September 2026. The positions focus on student safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support students during lunchtime, promoting healthy eating habits, good hygiene and positive behaviour.
• Ensure student safety and wellbeing during break times through active playground supervision and encouragement of inclusive play.
• Oversee students on the school bus, ensuring safe and orderly behaviour during boarding, travel and disembarking.
• Support teachers and students throughout the school day, including transitions, wraparound care, personal care and assistance with individual student needs.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, attendance monitoring and supervision across all assigned areas.

Requirements

• Native-level or fluent proficiency in Spanish and fluency in English.
• Previous experience working with minors in a similar role is essential.
• Training as a Leisure and Free Time Instructor is desirable.
• Additional languages are positively valued.
