The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) in Badalona is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to support the GRENBA group in Duchenne muscular dystrophy research. You will perform cell culture, molecular biology, and histology tasks on mouse models, contributing to publications and reports.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, data analysis, and administrative duties within a multidisciplinary translational research environment.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or similar.
• More than 2 years of research experience in neuromuscular diseases.
• Strong knowledge of muscle physiology and skeletal muscle biology.
• Proven experience with mouse models and mammalian cell culture, including experimental design, sample collection, and analyses.
• Laboratory experience in FAC sorting, cryostat sectioning, histology, immunohistochemistry, microscopy and molecular biology techniques.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
• Languages: English (required), Spanish (helpful).
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals will be valued.
• Scientific communication and writing skills will be valued.
• Experience in people management and mentoring skills will be valued.

Responsabilidades

• Cell culture experiments, including cell growth, maintenance, and transfection assays.
• Molecular biology experiments, including FAC sorting, DNA, RNA, and protein extraction, qRT-PCR, and Western blotting
• Planning and conducting research experiments with mice
• Preparation and processing of cryosections for histological, immunohistochemical, microscopic and molecular analyses
• Experimental data analysis and contribution to research reports and publications
• Responsible for laboratory administrative tasks, including record keeping, inventory management, and documentation
