MAXAM in Madrid is seeking a Modelling Specialist to support the global rollout of data-driven solutions for operational optimization, analytics, and decision-making in blasting and downstream processes.

You will model, develop and deploy automated data-cleaning and processing tools, handle large datasets, validate outputs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve predictive models and downstream performance.

Formación

• Mining, Geology, or Industrial Engineer background required.
• At least two years of experience in mining, quarry, or related tech environments.
• Knowledge of IT technologies (sensors, automation, modeling, AI) is valuable.
• Fluent in English; other languages are valued.

Responsabilidades

• Modeling and developing automated data-cleaning and processing tools using Python and Streamlit.
• Upload datasets containing thousands to millions of records.
• Clean, validate, standardize, and enrich data promptly.
• Automatically detect and correct format issues, mismatches, nulls, and outliers.
• Generate outputs aligned with predictive modeling requirements.
• Lead onsite trials, deployment, and follow-up.
• Coordinate and implement projects in operations and define downstream optimization strategies.
• Carry out simulations and modelling of blasting phenomena and their consequences downstream.

Modelling Specialist supports and accelerates the global rollout of digital solutions for operational optimization, analytics, and decision‑making in projects, and oversees database standardization.

Key Responsibilities

• Modeling and developing automated data‑cleaning and processing tools using Python and Streamlit.
• Upload multiple raw datasets of thousands to millions of records.
• Instantly clean, validate, standardize, and enrich the data.
• Automatically detect and correct format issues, naming mismatches, null values, and outliers.
• Produce reliable outputs aligned with the requirements of predictive models.
• Save significant engineering time and eliminate manual Excel work.
• Onsite trials, deployment and follow up.
• Participate in data collections, conduct experiments and perform data analyses.

Education/Qualifications

• Mining, Geology, or Industrial Engineer, or related technology/engineering areas (e.g. electrical/electronic engineer, industry 4.0).

Professional Experience

• At least two years of experience in construction, quarry or mining operations, or related technology companies or research centers.

Other skills (languages, IT, other technical knowledge)

• Technical knowledge in mining, especially in blasting and downstream operations.
• Technical knowledge in IT technologies (sensors, programming, automation, modeling, IA, etc.).
• Knowledge of programming languages is desirable (e.g. MATLAB, Phyton, IA).
• Fluent in English. Other languages are valued.
