MTG’s Digging Insights division seeks an engineer to own a digital product end-to-end, from onboard algorithms to the dashboard used by mine production managers worldwide.

You will split time roughly 70% building software and 30% driving product evolution, collaborating across Software, Electronics and Frontend teams to deliver robust, field-ready solutions.

We're looking for an engineer who will take technical ownership of one of our digital products, working across the entire product: from the specification and the algorithms running on board an excavator to the dashboard used by mine production managers around the world.

Digging Insights is MTG's Digital Products division.

For more than 65 years, MTG has designed and manufactured wear solutions for mining and construction. Building on that engineering expertise and our close collaboration with customers, Digging Insights develops connected products that combine sensing, onboard intelligence and cloud software to help mining companies operate more efficiently.

We're an engineering team working at the intersection of software, electronics and heavy industry. We collaborate daily with Product Engineering, Technical Services and customers to transform operational challenges into digital products deployed in mining environments.

THE ROLE

We work in small multidisciplinary product teams, each responsible for a complete solution.

You'll combine software development with product ownership, helping define what we build, how we build it and how we validate it in the field. You'll spend roughly 70% of your time building software and 30% driving product evolution.

You'll contribute directly to the implementation while helping coordinate the product's technical evolution together with the rest of the team.

Your product, end to end

You'll contribute across every layer of the product, helping ensure the complete solution works seamlessly.

• Specification: from product briefing to technical specs — use cases and verifiable acceptance criteria.
• Edge: the processing algorithms running on board the machine's ECU, offline-first.
• Backend: real-time event pipelines, APIs and KPIs in the cloud. This is where you build too.
• Frontend: making sure what's measured on the machine reaches the user at the mine coherently.

You won't be working alone. Cloud, Embedded and Frontend specialists provide technical expertise in each domain, while Product Engineering and Technical Services ensure our products solve real customer problems and perform reliably in the field.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• You write production code daily and care that it's good: solid backend experience (we care less about the language than about your judgment).
• Product judgment: telling what solves a user's problem from what merely clears the backlog.
• Experience running delivery in small teams (PO, tech lead or equivalent).
• AI-assisted development as a real part of how you work.
• Fluent Spanish and English.

Ideally, you'll also have experience with Go, event-driven systems, edge/embedded development, agentic engineering, computer vision or IoT products.

We're interested in engineers with good judgement, curiosity and a willingness to learn.
