Job summary

Impress is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design and ship models that drive patient and operations decisions across our health-tech platform. You will own the full lifecycle from data extraction to deployment, applying NLP and DL to unstructured data and ensuring robust evaluation and measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Strong ML fundamentals: probability, statistics, optimization, regularization.
• Breadth of modeling: tree ensembles, linear models, clustering, deep learning.
• Experimentation: uplift/causal inference and A/B testing.
• NLP/LLM experience: embeddings, transformers, fine-tuning or prompting.
• Technical stack: Python + ML ecosystem (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn; PyTorch or TensorFlow).
• Production track record: shipping models to production with measurable impact.
• Software fundamentals: clean code, SQL, version control, testing.

Responsibilities

• Frame and solve diverse ML problems across classification, regression, ranking and NLP tasks.
• Build models across algorithmic spectrum from gradient boosting to deep learning (inference).
• Apply NLP/DL to unstructured data: classification, embeddings, summaries, information extraction.
• Design experiments and A/B tests with offline metrics and online success criteria.
• Own the full lifecycle: data extraction, feature engineering, training, deployment, monitoring.
• Set the technical bar with robust evaluation to prevent leakage and overfitting.
