Job summary

Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) seeks a Machine Learning Engineer to join the Earth Sciences department within the AI Factory program. You will develop and deploy AI services for climate-related use cases, coordinating software integration on the MareNostrum5 AI partition and supporting the user community.

The role requires strong Python and ML framework experience, familiarity with HPC environments, and the ability to collaborate with domain scientists and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, ML, DS, environmental sciences, or related field.
• Strong Python and ML library experience.
• Experience with large datasets and UNIX HPC environments.
• Familiarity with climate or Earth datasets (NetCDF, Zarr) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize ML pipelines for environmental applications.
• Coordinate AI software availability on MareNostrum5 AI partition.
• Collaborate with domain scientists and external users.
• Contribute to technical reporting and publications.
