ITW Seats & Motion Division seeks a Metrology & Advanced Quality Engineer to drive advanced quality planning and dimensional validation for new product launches. You will lead PPAP, APQP, and DFMEA, coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing while ensuring dimensional compliance and robust product validation.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years in product quality, project quality or advanced quality in automotive.
• Experience with 3D metrology systems and software (GOM Inspect, ZEISS Inspect, PolyWorks).
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA.

Position Summary:

The Metrology & Advanced Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting new product development and launch activities by leading Advanced Quality Planning processes and performing dimensional validation using advanced metrology technologies. This role acts as a key interface between customers, project teams, manufacturing, and quality functions to ensure successful project execution, compliance with customer requirements, and robust product validation.

Advanced Quality:

• Manage the PPAP process, including preparation, submission, customer follow-up, and final approval.
• Lead supplier and internal APQP activities throughout project development and industrialization phases.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of DFMEA, Control Plans, and related validation documentation.
• Manage project-related non-conformities, deviations, and customer claims, ensuring timely resolution and corrective actions.
• Support product and process audits and monitor the effectiveness of corrective action plans.
• Serve as the technical quality interface with OEM and Tier 1 customers during project development and launch activities.

Metrology :

• Perform dimensional inspections using GOM/ZEISS 3D scanning systems on injection molded plastic components.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to develop appropriate measurement strategies and inspection plans.
• Generate dimensional analysis reports, capability studies (Cp/Cpk), and CAD-to-part comparison reports for internal and customer use.
• Support product validation activities and dimensional approvals within the PPAP process.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure dimensional compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2-5 years of experience in Product Quality, Project Quality, or Advanced Quality within the automotive industry.
• Previous experience using 3D metrology systems and software such as GOM Inspect, ZEISS Inspect, PolyWorks or similar.
• Experience working with OEMs and Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive suppliers is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive quality methodologies including APQP, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA.
• Experience in problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, GD&T, and dimensional inspection principles.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements is essential.
• Experience with VDA 6.3, Formel Q, plastic injection molding processes, or polymer transformation technologies is considered a strong advantage.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional and international teams.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Advanced understanding of automotive quality standards and Core Tools.
• Strong dimensional metrology and measurement analysis capabilities.
• Proficiency with GOM Inspect and/or ZEISS Inspect software.
• Expertise in interpretation of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong customer orientation with the ability to lead technical discussions and dimensional reviews with OEM and Tier customers.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Structured problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Team player with a proactive and hands-on approach.
