Group IPS is recruiting a Manager for the Building Installations Engineering Department based in Madrid. You will lead the building services team within the group, coordinate with the group’s structural and architectural teams, and ensure successful integration of MEP systems across projects.

You will oversee facilities projects from concept through commissioning, ensure regulatory compliance, safety and energy efficiency, and manage budgets and contractors.

Formación

• Degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years as an MEP team coordinator; over 10 years total experience.
• Solid knowledge of building systems design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, electrical circuits, and lighting controls.
• Languages: English and Spanish; other languages a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Leading the facilities team, coordinating staff, managing projects and clients, and coordinating with other departments within the group (architecture, structural engineering, etc).
• Managing and supervising building facilities projects, including mechanical, electrical, lighting, plumbing, sanitation, fire protection, and other related systems.
• Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure proper integration of MEP systems within the project.
• Supervising installation and commissioning of systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, safety and energy efficiency standards.
• Prepare and coordinate budgets, technical drawings, and specifications using project management software and Autodesk platform.
• Inspect and analyze technical issues, propose solutions, and adjust designs based on site conditions.

Job Description

Group IPS is looking for a Manager for the Building installations engineering department at one of the group's companies. Based in Madrid, the candidate will manage the building services team within a group dedicated to the design of building projects and will coordinate with the group’s structural and architectural teams.

Profile

Your Responsibilities May Include

• Leading the facilities team, coordinating staff, managing projects and clients, as well as coordinating with other departments within the group: architecture, structural engineering, etc.
• Managing and supervising building facilities projects, including mechanical, electrical, lighting, plumbing, sanitation, fire protection, and other related systems.
• Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure the proper integration of MEP systems within the overall project.
• Supervising the installation and commissioning of systems, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations, as well as safety and energy efficiency standards.
• Prepare and coordinate budgets, technical drawings, and specifications, using tools such as project management software to document and coordinate work and the Autodesk platform.
• Inspect and analyze technical issues, propose solutions, and make design adjustments based on actual site conditions.
• Coordinate and supervise the technical teams and contractors responsible for the installation of MEP systems.
• Report to project managers and contractors.
• Ensure that health and safety policies are followed on-site and assist in preparing documentation for permits and licenses.

Requirements

• Degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 7 years of experience as an MEP team coordinator. Over 10 years of total experience.
• Solid knowledge of building systems design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, electrical circuits, and lighting controls.
• Experience in data centers or similar mission-critical projects is a plus.
• Languages: English and Spanish. Other languages are a plus.
• Experience in other building services (fire protection, acoustics, etc.) is a plus.
• Knowledge of specific software (REVIT MEP is a plus).
• Coordination skills, initiative, and attention to detail.
