A leading public health research institute is seeking a Medical Research Fellow to manage tuberculosis projects. Responsibilities include implementing clinical trials, designing research protocols, and data management. Candidates must be Medical Doctors with postgraduate training and a minimum of 4 years' clinical experience. Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of Portuguese is a plus.
The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. ISGlobal is seeking a Medical Research Fellow who is interested in taking over and managing activities related to several projects in the Tuberculosis area. Under the lead of Alberto García-Basteiro (PI), the research group on Tuberculosis focuses on 4 main lines of investigation:

The position will also involve work based in Mopeia (Mozambique), a rural area where ISGlobal is expanding its Tuberculosis research activities and building a new local team. We are therefore looking for a person who feels comfortable working in a setting with limited resources, and who is motivated, adaptable, resilient, and has a hands‑on attitude to overcome daily challenges and contribute meaningfully to the project’s growth.

The selection process is designed in two phases:
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM‑R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
