Haskoning seeks a Mechanical BIM Engineer (MCF/Data Centres) to design and deliver data centre facilities. You will develop data-rich BIM models, coordinate services, and drive BIM innovation across multidisciplinary teams in a global context.

You will work from our Málaga office with English communication as a must, Spanish preferred, and opportunities to travel. The role offers a permanent contract, competitive salary, and extensive development opportunities.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering with professional experience in consulting engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant consulting engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Mechanical, HVAC and Plumbing engineering.
• Proficiency in BIM and Revit; certifications are a plus; Autodesk Forma experience.
• Experience with Dynamo, Python and Rhino Inside Revit for automation.
• Excellent communication in English (C1); Spanish preferred; Dutch/German advantageous.

What you do as a Mechanical BIM Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres)

As a Mechanical Engineer with strong BIM expertise, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams and under the guidance of the Lead Engineer, you will develop coordinated, data-rich BIM models and contribute to innovative, high-quality mechanical engineering solutions. You will help ensure designs are fully integrated, constructible, and compliant with client requirements and industry standards while driving efficient digital design workflows and supporting the successful delivery of complex projects.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Develop, coordinate and optimise mechanical BIM models and service installation drawings, translating engineering designs into accurate, data-rich models, ensuring initial space reservations, multidisciplinary integration, and supporting clash detection and model coordination using tools such as Revit and Revizto.
• Coordinate mechanical building services design, integrating functionality, installation, maintenance and accessibility requirements into models to deliver practical, buildable solutions while working closely with Mechanical, Plumbing and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Drive BIM innovation and digital engineering, proposing and developing innovative BIM solutions, improving design automation and contributing to more efficient engineering workflows and internal processes.
• Ensure quality and technical excellence, maintaining close collaboration with Project Engineers and BIM Coordinators, ensuring all deliverables meet Haskoning and client standards, and reviewing the work of junior Mechanical Engineers and BIM Modelers.
• Support successful project delivery and knowledge sharing, collaborating across international teams, sharing best practices, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and travelling internationally when required.

Our global Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team provides a multidisciplinary package of consultancy services for our datacenter clients. We provide strategic, tactical, and operational advice to our clients, including colocation datacentres, internet service providers, and telecom companies. Our team consists of colleagues with all kinds of different expertise. For example, mechanical engineering, construction, civil, structure, building, architecture, fire safety, controls engineering, and security technology. Together we use our knowledge and expertise to develop integrated designs for Data Centres.

What you bring

You are a proactive and collaborative professional with a solution-oriented mindset and a passion for innovation. You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams, take ownership of your work, and communicate confidently with colleagues and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Besides that, you have:

• A bachelor's degree (Mid-level) or master's degree (Senior-level) in Mechanical Engineering, combined with at least 4 years of relevant consulting engineering experience, enabling you to contribute to the design and delivery of complex building projects.
• Strong expertise in Mechanical, HVAC and Plumbing engineering, with experience in building projects; industrial or mission critical/data centre projects are an advantage, allowing you to develop practical and technically robust engineering solutions.
• Proficiency in BIM and Revit (certifications are a plus), with experience using Common Data Environments such as Autodesk Forma to develop coordinated, high-quality BIM models and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with digital design and automation tools, such as Dynamo, Python and Rhino Inside Revit, to improve engineering workflows, automate repetitive tasks and support innovative design solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (C1 minimum) to collaborate with international teams and represent Haskoning professionally. Spanish is preferred, while Dutch and/or German are considered an advantage.
