Roche in Madrid, Spain, is seeking an IT senior engineer to design and implement Directory Services solutions and provide 2nd-3rd level support for Active Directory and related infrastructure. You will work within Roche Digital Technology across time zones on global initiatives.

The role focuses on on‑prem and cloud directory services, including AD, LDAP, Entra ID, and PowerShell scripting, with emphasis on security, ITIL alignment, and continuous improvement. Strong English is required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years experience administering and advanced troubleshooting in Active Directory.
• Experience in a major global organization, preferably regulated.

• Follow ITIL, GxP and Project Management concepts; document management and validation.
• Maintain 24x7 on-call support; be flexible with hours; travel occasionally.

The Position We are looking for an IT senior engineer to join one of our teams in Roche Digital Technology. In Roche Digital Technology we focus on delivering technology that evolves the practice of medicine and helps patients live longer, better lives.

You will be responsible for the Design and Implementation of Directory Services (mainly Microsoft Active Directory) solutions and tier 2-3 operational support, performance, lifecycle management and continuous improvement of the underlying technologies. You will be part of multiple initiatives or projects with multiple specialists across multiple time zones in order to achieve the organizational objectives.

As a Manufacturing Specialist Directory Services you would be part of a multicultural and global team protecting our information and assets from unauthorized access, security risks and cyber attacks.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate in small to medium sized technical teams and contribute to the end to end design of infrastructure solutions producing and maintaining sufficient documentation.
• Interact with senior internal and external partners on significant technical matters and contribute to determining success criteria and evaluation of promising solutions/technologies via Proofs of Concepts (PoC’s) and feasibility studies.
• Providing 2nd and 3rd level support.
• Operationally manage and support and implement the Directory Services Infrastructure on premises for manufacturing environments and its associated compliments and applications.
• Proactively monitor systems and platforms for performance, availability and capacity management and ensure that the solution and component escalations are minimized.
• Promptly responding to customer requests, resolve incidents and implement changes, ensuring a high level of customer engagement and satisfaction
• Understanding, implementing and following relevant concepts of ITIL, GxP and Project Management. These include Request Management, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Document Management, Qualification and Validation and Project Management
• Actively focusing on own self-development and creating actionable plans to improve Provide 24x7 on-call support. Flexibility regarding working hours Occasional international travel is required

Qualifications

Education / Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline; or recognition of prior working experience which is equivalent.
• 4+ years experience administering and advance troubleshooting in Active Directory
• Robust experience working in a major global organization, preferably in a regulated industry

Technical Skills

• Strong design and hands‑on technical background.
• Solid experience on Microsoft Active Directory, Lightweight Directory Services (LDAP) and desirable in Entra ID.
• Powershell Scripting skills will be required
• Ability to apply tools, principles, concepts, and techniques related to requirements, data, usability, and process analysis in practical scenarios
• Skill in evaluating change and technology impacts with increasing accuracy, and breaking down complex technical concepts with minimal guidance
