Job summary

Airbus Operations SL in Illescas, Spain, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the Industrial Maintenance Team. You will focus on maximizing asset availability, safety, and performance across manufacturing assets and lead improvements in sustainability while aligning with EN 15628:2014-10 standards.

You will develop maintenance plans, manage budgets and suppliers, and participate in asset acquisitions and compliant qualifications.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Industrial or Aeronautical field.
• Experience in industrial asset maintenance and lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of PLC and CNC programming and asset safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensure industrial KPIs (Technical Availability, MTBF, MTTR) while coordinating with internal customers.
• Create and optimize maintenance plans and manage spare parts inventory efficiency.
• Manage and optimize maintenance budgets and monitor external service providers.
• Lead end-to-end projects related to maintenance, CI and sustainability.
• Support new asset acquisitions, including technical specs and offers evaluation.
• Ensure EN 15628:2014-10 compliance for maintenance personnel qualification.

Job Description: An opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer has arisen within Airbus Operations, Illescas (Toledo). The selected candidate will join the Industrial Maintenance Team, an integral part of our central industrial infrastructure department. The team is dedicated to guaranteeing maximum availability, safety, and operational excellence across all manufacturing assets supporting critical aerospace programs. In this role, you will take part in optimizing asset performance, implementing European compliance standards (EN 15628:2014-10), and driving continuous improvement and sustainability in our industrial facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure industrial KPIs (Technical Availability, MTBF, MTTR) while maintaining daily contact with internal customers.
• Create and optimize maintenance plans and manage spare parts inventory efficiency.
• Manage and optimize maintenance budgets, as well as monitor and control external service suppliers and performance KPIs.
• Manage end-to-end projects related to maintenance, continuous improvement, and sustainability.
• Participate in new asset acquisitions, including creating technical specifications and evaluating technical offers.
• Ensure compliance with European norm EN 15628:2014-10 for maintenance personnel qualification in alignment with Airbus central strategy.

• Experience: Experience in industrial asset maintenance, vendor control, and asset lifecycle management in complex manufacturing environments.
• Technical Knowledge: PLC and CNC programming knowledge.

• Soft Skills: High adaptability to work on new topics, new business areas, and in a collaborative networking mode.
• Languages: Advanced level in English.
• Valuable / Nice to have: Experience in the automotive or aerospace manufacturing sectors will be valued.
