Job summary

Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets seeks a Digital Product Owner to be based in Madrid, reporting to the Head of Operations. You will oversee the development, deployment and continuous improvement of digital underwriting products across Europe.

The role requires strong experience in underwriting applications, Agile delivery and regulatory knowledge, with Spanish and English fluency. You will collaborate with global teams to ensure a compliant, market-leading product portfolio.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5 years’ experience of managing underwriting applications both strategically and operationally.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish and English both verbally and in writing.
• Solid knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle specifically as it relates to the Agile methodology
• Experience in development in Realitix Zero is preferred
• Preference also for a candidate with an understanding of European regulatory standards for insurance systems
• Experience designing policy administration solutions, agent portals, risk analysis and underwriting file capabilities
• Experience with COTS/SaaS policy administration, document production or rating engines
• Strong ability to translate business strategy into services, operating model, product vision and roadmap; oversee execution
• Proven results in global, cross‑functional teams with Be Present/Be Bold/Be Curious culture

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of digital products: planning, development, testing, maintenance and configuration per MR Essentials.
• Collaborate with Change/Transformation leads and architects as contact for projects impacting digital products.
• Coordinate with IT Product Managers/architects to align and prioritise demands per product.
• Sign off change requests; plan and execute releases, enhancements and upgrades.
• Serve as contact for regulatory and IT security requirements (compliance, vendor risk, resilience).
• Other duties as defined by the Digital Product Owner role and MR Essentials framework.
