IE University in Madrid is seeking an Accounting Junior Associate to support the Accounting Manager in day-to-day operations, ensure accuracy and compliance, and contribute to automation initiatives.

This full-time role based at Madrid - IE Tower requires a degree in accounting/finance and 1-3 years of relevant experience; proficiency in Spanish GAAP and ERP systems is a plus; strong Excel and English are essential; collaboration across departments is expected.

Formación

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance position.
• Knowledge of Spanish GAAP (PGC); exposure to US GAAP or IFRS is a plus.
• Experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI is valued.
• Prior experience in an audit or accounting role at a Big Four firm is a plus.
• Experience and willingness to learn and apply AI-driven tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, etc.) in administrative and accounting processes.
• Strong written and spoken English; Spanish proficiency required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in the daily operations of general accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
• Perform bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes across the organization.
• Review and analyze balanceSheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure compliance with local (Spanish GAAP/PGC) and international accounting regulations.
• Prepare and maintain financial reports for management, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
• Contribute to process improvements and the automation of administrative and accounting tasks.
• Address internal queries and provide accounting-related support to other departments.
• Participate in internal projects and cross-functional initiatives as required.
