Descripción del empleo

Job Description:
A position for a Low Observability (LO) Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The successful applicant will join the LO Engineering Spain Department.
In general terms, a LO Engineer in this Department is expected:

  • To u nderstand the foundations of Operational Analysis and Preliminary Design.
  • To understand the influence of vehicle architecture on multi-spectral signature.
  • To understand the overall product life cycle of military aircraft with respect to its influence on signature.
  • To master the area of signature reduction.
  • To master LO design and analysis (radar, IR and visual), being able to specify designs and architectures to meet LO requirements.
  • To characterize and validate signature via simulations and measurements, defining the adequate simulation / test plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES

In this framework, the current position targets early stages in the career of a LO Engineer, looking for the following T&A:

  • To perform advanced LO analysis and Radar Cross Section (RCS) predictions using electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools (both proprietary and commercial).
  • Active participation in multidisciplinary designs. Propose design modifications (geometry, materials…) and drive designs to achieve LO requirements.
  • To prepare complex CAD geometries to get accurate results from electromagnetic solvers.
  • To post-process and interpret large volumes of simulation data, translating them into clear, actionable design recommendations for multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • To devise test plans and validate simulation results against measurement of real prototypes, quantifying both simulation and measurement limitations.
  • To research in the field of stealth to have a solid understanding of the discipline (past, present and future) to drive the design activities.
SKILLS

The following K&S are expected:

Required Technical Skills:

  • Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Physics.
