Job summary

Solera is seeking a technically skilled IT professional to join our Global IT Organization in Madrid. You will support Linux servers running customer-facing and internal applications, deploying, configuring and maintaining them in a data center environment.

You will ensure server health and uptime, perform patching and security hardening, create automation to rapidly deploy VMs, and assist project teams with design and rollout of server and software initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience supporting Linux servers in production.
• Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in multi-platform, multi-data center IT environments.
• Experience automating tasks using scripting languages like shell (bash, csh, etc), Perl or Python.
• Proven experience supporting web-based applications running on Apache Tomcat.
• Strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and maintain Linux servers in a Data Center environment.
• Be accountable for server health, uptime, monitoring and disaster recovery.
• Patch, remediate and secure operating systems in line with security policies.
• Create and maintain standardized OS templates and automate rapid deployment of virtual machines.
• Assist project teams in technical design, strategy, planning and implementation of server and software rollouts.
• Perform daily operational tasks including change requests, support tickets, server monitoring and problem triage.
• Produce and maintain server documentation.
• Adopt DevOps practices to drive automation of routine tasks.
