Job description

At Lognext we have been accompanying companies and teams for more than 18 years to identify and implement the technology necessary to advance, making their challenges and objectives our own and getting closer to their reality. Therefore, being a NEXTER means that your career and talent become meaningful to you and those around you, allowing you to build what matters most to you and reach your next level.

We are looking for a talented Unix Administrator to join our team for a multinational leader in the banking sector located in Madrid.

This role is responsible for the administration of Unix‑based servers, primarily RHEL, Ubuntu and Debian. Our environment spans a large, hybrid infrastructure of physical and virtual servers that supports mission‑critical applications and continuous production workloads.

  • Ensure production stability – monitor, tune and troubleshoot the server park so that all services meet their SLA deadlines and remain available for end‑user operations.
  • Drive process‑automation – design, script and implement automated workflows (e.g., provisioning, configuration management, patching, and compliance checks) that reduce manual effort, accelerate delivery, and improve repeatability across the whole fleet.
  • Maintain high‑availability architectures – deploy, configure and support HA solutions (clustering, load‑balancing, fail‑over) to guarantee uninterrupted production services.
  • Security & compliance – perform hardening, vulnerability remediation, and patch management in a timely, deadline‑oriented manner, ensuring that security controls never become a bottleneck for production.
  • Adaptability & continuous learning – stay current with emerging tools (Ansible, Python, CI/CD, etc.) and be ready to pivot when production requirements evolve or new technologies are introduced
What we look for
  • Proven expertise with Unix/Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu & Debian)..
  • Strong background in high‑availability technologies and process‑automation frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills – you can translate technical details into clear actions for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • A proactive mindset eager to learn, improve, and automate every repetitive task that touches the production line.
  • Advanced administration & troubleshooting on RHEL, Ubuntu & Debian in large‑scale environments ( > 10 000 servers).
  • Automation & scripting – proven expertise with Ansible to build repeatable playbooks for provisioning, configuration, compliance and patching.
  • High‑availability clustering – hands‑on experience with Veritas Infoscale Foundation and OpenSVC.
  • Additional automation platforms like Puppet (or similar).
  • Identity & access knowledge – Active Directory, Centrify.
  • Enterprise patch‑management tools – Satellite, Landscape.
  • CI/CD ecosystem familiarity – Jira, Bitbucket, GitLab, Jenkins, etc.
