We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel with a strong background in project financing and PPAs to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will provide legal advice and support on financing transactions, energy projects, and related commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigating legal risks.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full legal lifecycle of complex infrastructure and energy transactions. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of project finance documentation such as senior loan agreements, security packages, hedging agreements, and other commercial contracts critical to project development and financing. You will also work extensively on PPA documentation, including physical and virtual PPAs, tolling agreements, route‑to‑market agreements, market representation agreements, and balancing agreements.

The Legal Counsel will collaborate closely with internal teams and senior management, providing strategic guidance on banking, finance, and corporate law matters. You will play a key role in identifying and mitigating legal risks throughout the deal cycle, advising on contractual obligations, risk allocation, and dispute resolution strategies. In addition, you will coordinate with external counsel, particularly in the context of cross‑border transactions, and ensure that all activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal company policies.

This is a high‑impact role that requires strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to operate in a fast‑paced, international environment.

Requirements :

  • Law degree from a recognized institution; admission to practice law in [jurisdiction].
  • Minimum 5 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably with a top‑tier law firm or in‑house legal department of an energy / infrastructure company handling project finance and PPA transactions / Relevant experience in the banking sector, within Project Finance departments
  • Solid experience in drafting, negotiating, and advising on project financing and PPA documentation, as well as large‑scale infrastructure / energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of banking, corporate, and regulatory frameworks related to project finance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exposure to international financing institutions (e.g., multilateral development banks, export credit agencies).
  • Experience with cross‑border transactions.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to balance legal and business considerations
