DDN in Spain seeks a Lead Integrations & AI Engineer (Workday) to be the technical lead for integrations across the Workday HCM ecosystem. This hands-on role will partner closely with HR business stakeholders, TA business stakeholders, the HCM Systems team, and enterprise technology teams to design, build, support, and evolve secure, scalable integrations and automations.

• 5+ years of hands-on Workday integration development experience, with a strong focus on Workday HCM.
• Experience leading integration work from requirements through design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Deep expertise with Workday Studio, EIBs, Workday web services, Core Connectors, Integration Security Groups, and document transformations.
• Strong knowledge of XSLT, XML, JSON, REST and SOAP APIs, and API-based integration patterns.
• Experience with iPaaS technologies, preferably Workato or similar.
• Understanding of Workday HCM domains (Core HCM, staffing, compensation, etc.).
• Strong communication and ownership

Responsabilidades

• Lead end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support of Workday HCM integrations.
• Collaborate with HR, TA, and HCM Systems stakeholders to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Build and enhance integrations using Workday Studio, EIBs, connectors, and reports-as-a-service.
• Develop integrations using REST and SOAP, JSON, XML, XSLT, GraphQL where appropriate.
• Use iPaaS technologies including Workato to orchestrate workflows.
• Provide technical leadership on integration approaches (Workday Connector/Native, iPaaS, Studio, Orchestration for Integrations, Google Cloud Functions).
• Design API-based automations with AI capabilities while ensuring security and reliability.
• Own integration troubleshooting, monitoring, root-cause analysis, and production support; improve observability.
• Create and maintain technical specs, data mappings, test plans, runbooks, and docs.
• Participate in Workday release-impact analysis and testing, identifying enhancements and risks.

Role summary

The Lead Integrations & AI Engineer (Workday) will be the technical lead for integrations across DDN's Workday HCM ecosystem. This hands-on role will partner closely with HR business stakeholders, TA business stakeholders, the HCM Systems team, and enterprise technology teams to design, build, support, and evolve secure, scalable integrations and automations.

You will balance proven Workday integration patterns with modern API-driven automation, including AI-enabled workflows, in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

What you'll do

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support of Workday HCM integrations with internal systems, vendors, and enterprise platforms.

• Partner directly with HR, TA, and HCM Systems stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, supportable technical designs and data flows.

• Build and enhance integrations using Workday Studio, EIBs, Workday connectors, reports-as-a-service, web services, Workday Orchestration for Integrations, and document transformations.

• Develop integrations and automations using REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, XSLT, and GraphQL where appropriate.

• Use integration-platform-as-a-service technologies, including Workato, to orchestrate workflows across Workday and adjacent systems.

• Provide technical leadership and pragmatic guidance on best choice integration (Workday Connector/Native, iPaaS, Studio, Orchestration for Integrations, Google Cloud Functions, etc) tool for people data movement depending on the use case.

• Design innovative, API-based automations that responsibly incorporate AI capabilities while maintaining strong security, reliability, and operational controls.

• Own integration troubleshooting, monitoring, root-cause analysis, and production support; improve resiliency, observability, and documentation over time.

• Establish and maintain technical specifications, field mappings, test plans, deployment runbooks, and integration documentation.

• Participate in Workday release-impact analysis and testing, identifying enhancements and risks across the integration landscape.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of hands-on Workday integration development experience, with a strong focus on Workday HCM.

• Demonstrated experience leading integration work from requirements through design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.

• Deep practical expertise with Workday Studio, EIBs, Workday web services, Core Connectors, custom reports, Integration Security Groups, and document transformations.

• Natural curiosity and desire to learn, grow, and share.

• Strong experience with XSLT, XML, JSON, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and API-based system integration patterns.

• Experience with iPaaS technologies, preferably Workato or a comparable platform.

• Solid understanding of Workday HCM business processes and data domains, such as Core HCM, staffing, compensation, benefits, absence, payroll, timeoff, recruiting, or talent.

• Strong customer service and ability to communicate technical concepts, data tradeoffs, and delivery risks clearly to both business and technical partners.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of ownership and attention to data quality, security, and reliability.

• Comfortable operating in a global and fast-paced environment, prioritizing across concurrent initiatives, and moving between standard connector implementations and novel automation challenges.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI-enabled workflows through APIs, including safe and scalable integration of AI services into business processes.

• Experience with Claude Code, command-line tooling, or developer productivity automation.

• Experience with Workday Orchestrate for Integrations, Workday Extend, Workday Security, BIRT, or automated integration testing.

• Experience supporting global or multi-country HCM environments.

• Current or prior Workday Integration or Workday Studio certification.
