Job summary

All European Careers BENELUX seeks a Senior Data Engineer in Spain to lead end-to-end data projects, from requirements analysis and modelling to data engineering, reporting and UAT. You will guide a small team of 2–3 developers and deliver scalable data solutions across multiple business areas using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse and Power BI.

The role combines hands-on data engineering with BI development and strong collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering with emphasis on data modelling.
• 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse and Power BI reporting.
• Strong expertise in the Microsoft data stack including Fabric, Synapse and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data projects translating requirements into scalable data models, pipelines and Power BI solutions.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead end-to-end data projects using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse and Power BI, from requirements analysis and data modelling through data engineering, reporting and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

You will combine hands-on data engineering and BI development with leadership of a small team of 2–3 developers, delivering data solutions across multiple business areas.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data projects, translating business requirements into scalable data models, pipelines and Power BI solutions;
• Develop data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, SQL and PySpark;
• Design database schemas and implement Data Vault and dimensional data models;
• Build and maintain complex Power BI dashboards and reports, supporting UAT and production deployment;
• Develop and optimize data pipelines, data quality controls, SQL queries and processing workflows;
• Ensure solutions meet requirements for performance, scalability, security and data governance;
• Lead a small team of developers, coordinating priorities, workload and technical delivery while providing mentoring and guidance;
• Collaborate with architects, data scientists, analysts and business stakeholders and promote data engineering and self-service analytics best practices.

Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree;
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data modelling;
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering with Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse and report development with Power BI;
• Strong expertise in the Microsoft data stack, particularly Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and Power BI;
• Proven experience implementing Data Lake and Data Lakehouse architectures and working with large datasets and data pipelines;
• Strong experience with Data Vault and dimensional data modelling;
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience developing data solutions using PySpark;
• Experience with data governance, data security, Azure cloud architecture and CI/CD for data workflows;
• Proven experience leading a data, data science or similar technical team, including direct reports, mentoring and technical project delivery;
• Experience developing Power BI reports, including Paginated Reports or SSRS.

Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure DevOps, big data technologies, AI-assisted development or AI/ML techniques would be an advantage.
