Job summary

Energize Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a large-scale Azure-based Data Platform transformation for a European travel-tech company. This remote-first role focuses on designing, building and migrating ETL/ELT pipelines across Delta Lake and Lakehouse architectures.

You will work with Python, SQL and PySpark, implement CI/CD and IaC, and collaborate with Data Architects and Analysts to deliver scalable data solutions. Initial 12-month contract with extensions.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Delta Lake architectures.
• Advanced SQL and Python/PySpark skills.
• Experience designing and migrating ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Build data transformations using Python, PySpark and SQL.
• Develop solutions within Azure Databricks.
• Migrate and redesign existing data pipelines.
• Implement data quality, monitoring and testing processes.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a large-scale Data Platform transformation within a European company in the travel technology sector.

Following significant growth, the organisation is modernising its data ecosystem and building a new Azure-based platform to consolidate data currently distributed across legacy systems, cloud applications and third-party platforms.

You will join the Data Engineering team responsible for designing, building and migrating data pipelines into the new environment.

The role

You will be responsible for:

• Designing and developing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
• Building data transformations using Python, PySpark and SQL
• Developing solutions within Azure Databricks
• Migrating and redesigning existing data pipelines
• Working with Delta Lake and Lakehouse architectures
• Implementing data quality, monitoring and testing processes
• Optimising pipelines for performance and scalability
• Supporting CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
• Working closely with Data Architects, Analysts and other engineering teams

What we're looking for

• Experience working within complex data environments

Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, data platform migrations or large-scale datasets would be particularly valuable.
