Job summary

DXC Technology in Spain is seeking an accomplished CICS/MQ Systems Programmer/Administrator to maintain stability, security, and performance of z/OS CICS and MQ environments. You will install, customize, and manage CICSplex and MQ network infrastructure, ensuring 24x7 availability and proactive upgrade projects.

As a lead in the team, you will mentor colleagues, drive performance tuning, enforce security and compliance, and coordinate complex client-driven initiatives across a global IT estate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe CICS Transaction Server and MQ Messaging systems programming/administration.
• Strong understanding of CICSplex and MQ architecture, resource administration, and system programming concepts.
• Proficiency in z/OS and JCL.
• Knowledge of CICS/MQ performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Experience with data security and compliance standards in CICS/MQ.
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, including system dump analysis.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
• Bilingual: English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Maintain CICS region and MQ queue manager procedures, startup JCL, and configuration files.
• Execute backups of CICS Global Catalog, Local Catalogs, and MQ QMGR data sets.
• Provide 24x7 support for system software-related issues to ensure availability.
• Perform change management functions, including ticketing and change control processes.
• Conduct data security audits and enforce security standards.
• Install and upgrade CICS Transaction Server, MQ, and related sub-products.
• Apply preventative and corrective maintenance PTFs and HIPER PTFs.
• Enforce CICS/MQ security and audit conformance with regulations.
• Perform disaster recovery drill exercises.
• Configure and optimize performance using SIT and CSQZPARM parameters.
• Provide emergency restart and problem resolution for CICS/MQ environments.
• Allocate and manage CICS/MQ datasets and logs.
• Use CMF, CICS Trace, and MQ Trace to monitor and audit.
• Lead moderately complex client-driven and internal projects.
• Research and resolve system software issues with timely solutions.
• Tune memory/resource usage based on daily reports.
• Interface with Change Support and vendor software support.
• Collaborate with Automation teams for automated responses.
• Provide team leadership and mentoring.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
