Lead Field Service Technician
Thermal Works LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Field Service Technician to join our team, working directly with Thermal Works and local contractors, focusing on Startup / Commissioning and Service for all Thermal Works equipment. We are looking for a detail-oriented, goal-oriented individual with foundational knowledge in HVAC, strong written and verbal communication skills, and professionalism in a rapidly changing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a comprehensive training program at Thermal Works’ U.S. headquarters.
- Manage Preventive Maintenance and Service schedules.
- Perform on-site quality Control for the installation of Thermal Works products.
- Perform all preventative maintenance and service needs for clients.
- Be available to take emergency issues when on call.
- Monitor service software closely to ensure services are met on a timely schedule.
- Collaboration with different departments within the company for product development and improvement.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting and repair of thermal works equipment.
Education / Experience
- Technical or Vocational Degree / Certification in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or Electromechanical Systems.
- F-Gas Category I Certification (in accordance with EC Regulation No. 517 / 2014) is required for handling fluorinated gases.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical systems for mission‑critical infrastructure, including data centers, healthcare, or industrial facilities.
- Must have experience with chillers and CRAH (Computer Room Air Handler) units, encompassing installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with EU safety standards, pressure equipment directives (PED), and EN 378 refrigeration safety norms.
- Capable of performing diagnostics, repairs, and system optimizations in live environments.
Specific Skills / Abilities
- Baseline circuit analysis and troubleshooting of electrical components.
- Knowledge of hydronic systems.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot HVAC systems.
- Understand refrigeration theory as well as hands‑on applied sciences.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (additional European languages are a strong plus).
- Ability to read drawings at a basic level.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously throughout the day.
