Job summary

dLocal’s Cloud Platform team in Barcelona is seeking a DevOps Engineer to scale and secure infrastructure for mission-critical services. You will collaborate with software engineers, security, and compliance to deliver reliable, scalable platforms while adopting AI-assisted tooling with careful risk controls.

You will build and operate AWS infra and Kubernetes clusters, implement Gateway API traffic management, and contribute to disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with production AWS infrastructure (compute, networking, storage, IAM, load balancing).
• Production Kubernetes experience beyond deployment (cluster ops, scheduling, security, troubleshooting).
• Experience with Kubernetes traffic management, Gateway API, and a service mesh.
• Strong Terraform and Git-based engineering practices (modules, state, reviews).
• Strong Linux and networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS).
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery (backups, restores, runbooks).
• Demonstrable AI-assisted infrastructure work and safe use of tools.
• Understanding cloud security fundamentals (least privilege, secrets, encryption).
• Clear communication and collaboration with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate AWS infrastructure and production Kubernetes platforms.
• Implement Gateway API-based traffic management and service mesh capabilities.
• Develop reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure automation with safe deployment practices.
• Design and exercise multi-region disaster recovery plans (RTO/RPO).
• Apply AI-assisted tools to IaC, scripting, and runbooks; improve tests and reviews.
• Participate in infrastructure on-call rotations and incident response.
