AgileEngine is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain the PHP-based systems powering our distributed services. You will apply strong OOP and system design skills to keep APIs secure, scalable, and performant. This hands-on role suits someone who values clean code and sound engineering fundamentals.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years backend software engineering experience in PHP environments.
• Strong knowledge of OOP, design patterns, algorithms and data structures.
• Experience building backend systems and service integrations.
• Proficiency in secure API design and authentication/authorization concepts.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and backend architecture basics.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments.
• Good communication, collaboration and documentation skills.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain backend systems, APIs, and integrations for company products.
• Contribute to distributed systems and microservices for scalability and reliability.
• Apply OOP principles and architectural patterns for extensibility.
• Implement and maintain secure authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT, RBAC).
• Use data structures, algorithms, and caching to optimize performance.
• Debug, profile, and tune performance across environments and services.
• Collaborate with PMs, Architects, QA, and Support to gather requirements and deliver.
• Participate in testing strategies to cover new and existing functionality.
• Maintain documentation including API specs and implementation notes.
• Engage in code reviews and cross-team demos to align on progress and priorities.
• Ensure compliance with open-source usage and third-party dependencies.
